What is AAMDM?

AAMDM is a device management service for company-owned iPhone, iPad and Mac. It runs its own MDM server so IT teams can enroll devices, see them in one inventory and act on them from a single workspace.

Is AAMDM available today?

AAMDM is in early access, and Phase 1 is in active development. Phase 1 covers workspaces, the APNs connection, profile-based enrollment, device inventory, remote commands (lock and unlock) and an audit log. We do not describe anything as live that is not.

What is planned after Phase 1?

Phase 2 is planned to bring Apple Business Manager Automated Device Enrollment, configuration policies, app deployment and device groups. Phase 3 is planned to bring Declarative Device Management, compliance, reports and customer-controlled support access. These are plans, not committed dates.

Which devices and operating systems does AAMDM support?

AAMDM is designed for company-owned iPhone, iPad and Mac. Exact operating system versions and feature availability depend on the device, the enrollment method and what Apple supports, and we will confirm them with early-access customers before they start.

Can AAMDM manage Android or Windows devices?

No. AAMDM focuses on Apple devices only.

Does AAMDM have an API?

An API and webhooks are part of the platform design, but they are planned and not available yet. Timing will be shared with early-access customers.

Apple requirements

What do I need from Apple to use AAMDM?

You need an MDM push certificate created in the Apple Push Certificates Portal using a company-controlled Apple Account, and a test device. For automated enrollment (Phase 2) you also need an Apple Business Manager account linked to AAMDM with a server token.

Do I need Apple Business Manager?

Not for Phase 1 profile-based enrollment. Automated Device Enrollment, planned for Phase 2, requires Apple Business Manager. To enroll in Apple Business Manager, Apple typically asks for a D-U-N-S Number for your organization.

What is a D-U-N-S Number and why does Apple ask for it?

A D-U-N-S Number is a unique identifier for a business, issued by Dun & Bradstreet. Apple uses it to verify organizations that enroll in Apple Business Manager. You can look yours up, or request one, from Dun & Bradstreet.

Why does the Apple Account for the push certificate matter?

The MDM push certificate is tied to the Apple Account that created it, and it must be renewed every year with the same account. Use a company-owned account that more than one person can recover. Our article on APNs renewal explains why.

Is AAMDM affiliated with Apple?

No. AAMDM is an independent product. Apple, iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Business Manager are trademarks of Apple Inc.

Security & privacy

Does AAMDM hold security certifications?

No. AAMDM does not currently hold third-party security certifications. Our security page and trust center describe what we do, and we are happy to walk through architecture and data handling with your team.

How is access to a workspace protected?

Administrator sign-in uses two-factor authentication, and service credentials such as certificates and tokens are stored encrypted. Each customer’s data is kept in its own tenant.

What data does AAMDM collect from devices?

Device identifiers and hardware details such as serial number and model, operating system and enrollment status, assigned policies and apps, compliance status, and administrator audit records. What is collected depends on the enrollment method and the features enabled. See the Privacy Policy and Employee Privacy pages.

Does AAMDM read employees’ personal messages, photos or browsing history?

No. AAMDM does not collect personal messages, personal photos, browsing history or personal app data from managed devices.

Who is the data controller?

For employee device data, the customer is the controller and AAMDM acts as the processor on the customer’s instructions. Our DPA template sets this out.

How do I report a security issue?

Please follow our Responsible Disclosure policy and write to security@aamdm.com.

Early access & billing

What does early access include?

Phase 1 features as they are released, a direct line to the team and a say in what we build next. See early access for who it suits and how onboarding works.

How much does AAMDM cost?

Pricing is per managed device, billed monthly or annually, with volume tiers on request. We do not publish prices on this site; we confirm them in writing before any paid use begins.

Can I export my data if I leave?

Yes. Before a contract ends you can export your organization’s data, including the audit log. We then delete it within the periods in our retention table.
